Wire harnesses & cable assemblies

Custom wire harness sourcing from India.

BGS is a wire harness supplier in India, coordinating custom harnesses and cable assemblies through manufacturing partners for OEMs and overseas buyers.

Send your drawing, BOM, pinout and quantities. We coordinate source review, quotations, samples and agreed inspection.

Start with a drawing, wiring diagram or reference sample. We’ll clarify what is missing.

Choose the assembly architecture

Custom wire harness and
cable assembly configurations.

A wire harness organises wires and terminations around the circuits and physical layout of your equipment. Define the required architecture before comparing manufacturing sources.

Custom wire harness assemblies

For equipment with several connection points, breakout positions and installation constraints. Review wire sizes, branch lengths, connector references and protection as one complete assembly.

Discuss Your Harness Configuration

Equipment interfaces

Connector cable assemblies

Point-to-point or branched cable assemblies with the specified housings, contacts, pin mapping and cable construction.

Installation-ready wiring

Terminated wire sets

Defined wire lengths with terminals, ferrules, lugs, identification and end preparation for panels, appliances and machinery.

Choose the assembly around its interfaces

Multi-branch harness

Use a branch drawing, circuit table and connector BOM.

Define breakouts, routing and identification.

Connector cable assembly

Specify the cable, both interfaces, pin-out and overall length.

Confirm connector, contact and seal references.

Terminated wire set

List each wire, cut length, terminal, label and quantity.

Agree test coverage and packaging.

The images illustrate assembly types. Product details and manufacturing feasibility are confirmed against your approved specification.

Evidence for your source review

Certifications, Approvals
& Documentation

Match the evidence to the proposed manufacturer, product and market. Include your requirements in the RFQ so the relevant records can be requested and checked during source evaluation.

Manufacturer certifications

Identify the certificate holder and actual manufacturing facility. Review the standard, certified scope, issuing body and validity for the proposed source.

Applies to the named manufacturer or facility.

Product approvals

Where applicable, identify the covered product/model, configuration, market and approval or file reference. Confirm that the proposed item falls within the documented scope.

Applies to the identified product and approval scope.

Define the documentation you need.

Component approvals do not automatically establish finished-harness approval. Define the assembly requirements, workmanship criteria and required test records.

Application-led sourcing

Machinery and automation, appliances and HVAC, control panels, instruments and other OEM equipment. Share the operating conditions and any industry-specific requirements; suitability is evaluated for the selected source.

Drawing & revision
Harness layout, overall dimensions, branch lengths, breakout positions and tolerances.
Circuit & pin-out
Wiring diagram, connection table, circuit identification and required electrical ratings.
Bill of materials
Wire specifications, connector housings, contacts, seals, terminals and approved component references.
Installation & protection
Routing, bend space, temperature, moisture, abrasion, movement and restraint requirements.
Acceptance & order
Sample approval, inspection and test scope, required records, quantities, destination and timing.

Control the interfaces

More than a bundle of wires.

Define what each branch connects, how it is routed and how it is identified. Connector, terminal and protection references must stay aligned with the approved drawing and BOM.

Illustrative architecture only. Your approved drawing defines the actual connections.
Connector & terminal compatibility

Specify mating references, contact size, seals, locking features and wire range. Crimp tooling and acceptance criteria should match the selected contact system. Proposed alternatives need buyer approval.

Routing, branch control & strain relief

Define breakout positions, installation clearances, clips, grommets and restraint points. Sleeving, conduit and heat shrink are evaluated against the actual mechanical and environmental requirements.

Identification & revision control

Agree wire IDs, connector labels, customer part number, drawing revision and traceability records. Define how component, material or process changes will be submitted for approval.

Your controlled specification

Drawing revision, approved components, dimensions and acceptance criteria establish the quotation basis.

Changes require agreement

Alternative components, materials or processes are reviewed with you before approval. Unresolved assumptions remain visible.

Define what acceptance means

Agree the checks
before production.

Testing is configuration-specific. Agree methods, limits, sampling or unit coverage and the records needed for your harness programme.

Electrical paths

Defined point-to-point continuity, circuit mapping and checks for unintended connections against the agreed test specification.

Terminations

Crimp workmanship, contact retention and any pull-force or crimp measurements required by the specified process.

Mechanical fit

Branch lengths, connector orientation, breakout positions, protection and installation geometry.

Additional validation

Insulation resistance, dielectric withstand or other tests only where applicable and defined for the assembly.

Specify the acceptance standard and revision.

If IPC/WHMA-A-620 or another customer standard is required, identify the applicable revision, class and additional requirements. Manufacturer capability and any required credentials must be verified for the selected source.

About IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance requirements

Every unit on a BGS purchase order is inspected against agreed criteria. For manufacturer-direct orders, BGS inspection scope, responsibilities and service terms are agreed separately.

One coordination route

From your requirement to an agreed supply plan.

Review

Drawing, BOM and installation requirements.

Evaluate

Manufacturing fit, component availability and quotation assumptions.

Approve

Samples, documentation and defined inspection or test criteria.

Coordinate

Agreed production follow-up, inspection, packing and dispatch planning.

Before you send the drawing

Practical answers for harness buyers.

Does BGS manufacture wire harnesses or coordinate supply?

BGS is a supplier and sourcing partner. Manufacturing is carried out by selected Indian manufacturing partners. Your quotation defines the proposed source, supply responsibilities, sample approval and agreed inspection or testing scope.

Can I start with a sample instead of a complete drawing?

Yes. Share photographs, the application, connector references and quantities. A sample can support the review, but the required pin mapping, dimensions, materials and acceptance criteria still need to be defined before production.

Can I specify connector and terminal brands or part numbers?

Yes. Include the manufacturer and exact references in the BOM. Availability and assembly feasibility are reviewed for the selected source. Any proposed substitution must be submitted for your approval rather than assumed equivalent.

Can a harness be quoted for equipment sold overseas?

Yes. Include the installation environment, destination markets and applicable customer or product requirements. Wire, connector, material and documentation needs are evaluated for the specific equipment; the destination and application determine the requirement.

How are samples, quantities and lead times confirmed?

The configuration, component availability, tooling and test-fixture needs affect sample cost, order quantities and timing. BGS coordinates clarification with the manufacturing source and records the agreed basis in the quotation.

Does continuity testing cover every acceptance requirement?

No. Continuity checks the defined electrical paths. Pin mapping, insulation, mechanical fit, crimp workmanship and any additional electrical tests require their own agreed methods, limits and records.
