Behind the RFQ

Sourcing and evaluation.
The milestone matters.

These examples describe stages established in the correspondence. They do not add outcomes or technical claims to the completed supplies above.

RFQ & supplier comparison

Power-cord sourcing: comparing the complete offer.

The requirement

A buyer was exploring an alternative source for two power-cord variants with different cable materials and termination requirements.

BGS’s approach

BGS requested technical specifications, obtained offers from four suppliers and presented a commercial option with MOQ, payment basis, EXW terms and a raw-material price-adjustment condition.

The documented milestone

The buyer discussed drawings for customer approval and whether to place the PO with BGS or the manufacturer. The correspondence establishes a sourcing proposal; it does not establish a resulting production order or achieved saving.

For your next RFQ

Compare the same specification and review the commercial assumptions alongside the price.

Samples received · evaluation stage

Plug samples: supporting the buyer’s evaluation.

The requirement

A buyer needed 6A and 16A plug samples and supporting information for evaluation.

BGS’s approach

The correspondence documents coordination of sample dispatch and shipment paperwork. After receipt, the buyer requested inspection and dimensional information, drawings and relevant compliance documents.

The documented milestone

The buyer confirmed sample receipt. Final product approval and a production order are not established by this milestone.

For your next RFQ

Include the sample checks and documentation your team needs when sending the RFQ.

Manufacturer review & quotation preparation

Aluminium enclosures: defining the production scope.

The requirement

An enclosure enquiry needed drawing review, confidentiality arrangements and clear technical and commercial assumptions.

BGS’s approach

BGS engaged a manufacturer and requested confidentiality and supplier documents before sharing the complete technical package. Enclosure quotation work addressed fittings, packing, design changes and sample-development conditions.

The documented milestone

The records document sourcing and quotation preparation. They do not establish an approved sample, completed shipment or verified ingress-protection rating.

For your next RFQ

Agree the drawing revision, fittings, finish and acceptance criteria before proceeding.

Practical questions

Before the next step.

Clarify the requirement and responsibilities before progressing. The agreed scope determines the work BGS coordinates.

Are the completed supplies and sourcing examples the same projects?

They are presented separately. The sourcing examples describe the stage established in the correspondence and should not be treated as additional facts about the completed supplies.

Do these examples establish a guaranteed saving or delivery outcome?

No. They describe specific supplies or milestones. Prices, lead times, approval requirements and performance commitments must be agreed for a new requirement.

Can I send a similar product requirement?

Yes. Share the product definition, quantity, destination and required checks. BGS reviews the appropriate sourcing, development or supply scope for your enquiry.
