Your starting point

Define the electrical duty
and installation.

Open the brief closest to your requirement. Establish the current technical definition, approval status and work still needed.

Power distribution & projects

Share voltage, installation method, routing, protection and the applicable project specifications. Include lengths, drums and site delivery requirements.

Automation & equipment wiring

State movement, bend requirements, screening, connector interfaces and the intended equipment duty. Keep wiring data and revisions together.

Renewable-energy systems

Identify the system application, electrical duty, outdoor exposure, interfaces and the exact product approval or test evidence requested.

A shared basis for review

Define the duty.
Check the offered configuration.

Compare the specification, offered configuration and supporting evidence together. Record technical differences and required approvals before release.

Representative enquiries

Turn the requirement into a useful RFQ.

Start with the information available. These examples show which technical and commercial details help the manufacturer review the scope.

Custom cable or cord

Construction, rating, plug/connector configuration, standard, lengths and quantities.

Harness or electrical assembly

Drawing, BOM, pinout, terminals, assembly instructions and test requirements.

Conductive or moulded part

Drawing/sample, copper/alloy or polymer grade, tolerance, finish and annual volume.

Tooling or extrusion profile

Part/profile drawing, material, hardness, colour, length, tooling scope and sample criteria.

Standards & supporting evidence

State the requirement. Check the exact evidence.

Certification, conformity, substance requirements and supplier quality systems have different scopes. Specify the actual product, configuration, manufacturer and destination.

BIS · UL · VDE
Applicable product standards or certification requirements. Check the offered construction, rating, source and current supporting records.
CE
Identify applicable European product legislation and the required conformity assessment, declaration and technical evidence.
RoHS · REACH
State the applicable substance or material requirements and the declarations or test evidence needed for the offered product.
ISO · customer systems
Specify the supplier quality-system requirements and confirm the certificate scope and validity for the selected source, where required.

Availability and applicability vary by product and manufacturing source. A listed reference does not mean every BGS-sourced product or supplier holds that approval.

From application to agreed supply

From technical brief
to agreed supply.

A shared technical and commercial brief helps each source review the same requirement and keeps approval decisions traceable.

Define the duty

Review drawings, specifications, application, material and expected quantities.

Review the source

Review the process, tooling, capacity, quality requirements and commercial assumptions.

Approve the basis

Agree sample checks, material/function evidence, technical changes and production release.

Coordinate supply

Coordinate production follow-up, agreed inspection, records, packing and planned dispatch.

Purchasing & inspection

Agree the route.
Define the responsibilities.

The order route establishes who supplies commercially and which coordination and inspection activities are included.

Order placed on BGS

Orders placed on BGS follow the agreed supply scope. Every unit is inspected against agreed criteria.

Agree the specification, inspection methods, acceptance criteria and required records before ordering.

Direct manufacturer order

The manufacturer supplies the buyer directly. BGS inspection and coordination are agreed separately.

Confirm scope, access, reporting, fees and release responsibilities for the engagement.

Practical buyer questions

Before you send
the requirement.

Use the application to define the enquiry. Product suitability and the engagement scope are reviewed separately.

Can an enquiry include cables and wiring assemblies?

Yes. Send a structured cable schedule or BOM with technical references and quantities. BGS reviews the manufacturer and supply scope for the different items.

Are all electrical products certified for every market?

No. Required approvals and test evidence are checked for the actual product, configuration, manufacturer and destination. Specify the exact requirement in the RFQ.

Can a custom cable or harness be developed?

A custom requirement can be reviewed with suitable manufacturers. Construction, interfaces, samples, test scope and approval responsibilities are agreed before production.

Can I enquire for a renewable-energy project?

Yes. Share the system application, electrical requirements, installation conditions and required evidence. Product suitability and supply scope are reviewed for the specific enquiry.

Are installation and commissioning included?

Only where expressly agreed in the quotation and order. Identify requested site activities separately from product supply.
