BGS is a power cord supplier in India for AC power cords, cord sets and custom power cord assemblies through manufacturing partners.
Share the destination, plug, equipment connection, rating and quantities. We coordinate configuration review, quotations and required approval evidence.
Start with a part reference, drawing or photographs of both ends.
Plug · Cable · Equipment connection
Choose the connection
AC power cords, cord sets and equipment terminations.
Choose a starting configuration. We’ll review the plug, cable and equipment end together against your application.
Plug + cable + equipment end
Complete power connection
Moulded AC power cords
Country-specific moulded plugs and flexible cords for appliances, equipment and OEM programmes, with a detachable connector or specified fixed termination.
Choose the equipment interface: IEC connector, stripped leads, ferrules, terminals or a drawing-specific connection. Confirm compatibility and ratings.
For requirements using a plug or connector that can be opened and wired to a suitable cable. Share the destination-country plug reference, electrical rating, conductor size and cable diameter for source review.
Terminal and cable-entry compatibility
Cord anchorage and assembly requirements
Required approval evidence and marking
The image shows one three-pin plug style. Other country-specific rewireable variants are evaluated separately; availability and approval coverage must be confirmed.
A plug selected for the destination, with cable and a fixed or detachable equipment termination.
Send: both ends + cable marking
Detachable cord set
A mains plug and cable terminating in a connector that mates with the equipment inlet.
Send: plug + inlet reference
Custom assembly
A configuration with drawing-specific dimensions, terminations, moulding or identification.
Send: drawing + revision + volume
Need a rewireable part? Include the plug or connector reference, cable dimensions and required assembly scope in your enquiry.
These are enquiry routes, not mutually exclusive product standards. A custom cord can also use moulded ends or an IEC connector.
Compare the complete connection
Destination end
Identify the destination country, plug reference, orientation and required evidence.
A plug shape alone is not the specification.
Equipment end
Confirm the inlet or fixed termination, access clearance and strain relief.
Match both ends before comparing offers.
Complete assembly
Agree cable size, rating, length endpoints, marking and test scope.
Review evidence for the proposed configuration.
Evidence for your source review
Certifications, Approvals & Documentation
Match the evidence to the proposed manufacturer, product and market. Include your requirements in the RFQ so the relevant records can be requested and checked during source evaluation.
Manufacturer certifications
Identify the certificate holder and actual manufacturing facility. Review the standard, certified scope, issuing body and validity for the proposed source.
Applies to the named manufacturer or facility.
Product approvals
Where applicable, identify the covered product/model, configuration, market and approval or file reference. Confirm that the proposed item falls within the documented scope.
Applies to the identified product and approval scope.
Define the documentation you need.
Plug, connector, cable and complete cord-set scope may differ. Specify the destination, configuration, rating and required approval references.
Start with the country of use. Then align the mains plug, cable and equipment termination with the application and required documentation.
Examples of plug styles; exact configuration and approval scope require review.
USA & Canada
NEMA configurations
Share the exact plug reference, polarisation or earthing needs, cable designation and required product approval evidence.
Europe
Europlug, Schuko & country-specific styles
Identify the destination country and plug variant. European markets do not all use one identical plug or approval route.
United Kingdom
BS 1363-type configurations
Confirm the plug reference, applicable fuse requirement, cable and equipment-end termination.
Australia & New Zealand
AS/NZS 3112-type configurations
Specify the intended country, pin configuration, ratings, cord construction and required documentation.
India & other destinations
Requirement-led plug selection
Share the actual country and plug standard for India, Japan, Middle East, Africa or other markets; regional labels alone are insufficient.
These are configuration examples for enquiry review, not a claim that every variant or approval is available. Coverage is confirmed for the selected manufacturer and complete assembly.
Specify once. Compare clearly.
Six details that shape a useful quotation.
Use the checklist to make supplier offers easier to compare. Missing details can be clarified during the enquiry.
Destination & plug
Delivery country, plug reference, earthing and straight or angled entry.
Equipment connection
Inlet or connector reference, stripped end, ferrule or terminal drawing.
Electrical & operating needs
Required voltage, current, temperature and operating conditions.
Cable & dimensions
Core count, conductor size, construction, length and dimensional tolerances.
Documents & identification
Required approval evidence, test records, markings and traceability.
Order & packing
Sample quantity, order volume, delivery timing and packaging.
Application comes first
Built around the equipment and its destination.
Appliances, HVAC, IT equipment, instruments and industrial machines have different connection and operating needs. A single regional label does not establish suitability for every country or application.
Documentation for the proposed configuration.
Before ordering, agree which approvals, markings and test records are required. BGS reviews the available evidence for the selected source and assembly; a similar product or a certification logo alone does not establish coverage.
Three checks before choosing a cord set
Match the equipment end—not just the mains plug
For detachable cords, confirm the equipment inlet and connector reference. For fixed connections, provide end preparation or terminal details. Review earthing, access space and operating temperature in either case.
Review the whole assembly rating
The plug, cable and connector must all support the requirement. The lowest-rated component limits the assembly; a larger conductor alone does not increase the connector or plug rating.
Define how length will be measured
Show measurement endpoints and tolerances on the drawing. Overall length, cable cut length and exposed conductor length are different dimensions.
Clarify the configuration, destination, quantity and documentation requirements.
Compare
Evaluate suitable manufacturing sources and the technical and commercial assumptions.
Approve
Agree drawings, samples, inspection criteria and any tooling before production release.
Coordinate
Follow the agreed order scope through inspection, packing and dispatch planning.
What to agree before ordering
Configuration and drawing revision · required documentation · sample approval · inspection scope · packing and delivery terms.
Every unit on a BGS purchase order is inspected against agreed criteria. For manufacturer-direct orders, BGS inspection scope and responsibilities are agreed separately.
Before your RFQ
Practical answers for OEM buyers.
Is BGS a power cord manufacturer or supplier?
BGS is a supplier and sourcing partner working with Indian manufacturing partners. Manufacturing and product approvals relate to the selected source and configuration. The quotation confirms supply scope, documentation, samples and agreed inspection requirements.
Can I enquire about rewireable plugs separately?
Yes. Specify whether you need the plug or connector as a component or as part of an assembled cord. Include the destination, part reference, cable diameter, conductor size, quantity and required approval evidence. Assembly instructions and suitability are confirmed for the selected part.
Can I start with an existing cord or a photograph?
Yes. Send clear images of both ends, cable markings and overall length, together with quantity and delivery country. Drawings and electrical requirements help complete the review.
Can BGS source country-specific power cords?
BGS coordinates enquiries with Indian manufacturing partners. The exact plug, cable, connector, ratings and destination-country requirements are reviewed together; availability and approval coverage must be confirmed for the selected source.
Can I specify a fixed termination instead of an IEC connector?
Yes. The enquiry can cover stripped leads, ferrules, terminals or another drawing-defined connection. Share the equipment interface, end preparation, electrical ratings and inspection requirements for manufacturer review.
How are quantity, samples and lead time confirmed?
Order quantities, sample costs, tooling needs and lead time depend on the configuration and selected manufacturer. These are clarified with the quotation. Production release follows the agreed drawing, sample and inspection approvals.
